I'm using Word 2007 and need to insert white-space to help difine sections of
a document.

I would like to do this without adding about 2" of the dreaded empty
paragraph. Can anybody tell me how this can be done.

This site is golden in my book.

If you have already added section breaks, you can format the style that
begins each section (Heading 1, say) as having 2" Spacing Before. Or, if
you're not using section breaks but Heading 1 (or whatever) includes "Page
break before" formatting (so that it always starts a new page), you can also
use Spacing Before. Both these solutions assume that you are wanting to add
space at the top of a page that begins a section. If you just want space
between sections, add 2" Spacing Before to the heading style that begins the
section.
