I am trying to write a number in a powerpoint presentation such as for example:

-5 to the second power

dfae,
Is not there a key on your keyboard letting you type that easily (on my
azerty keyboard that key is just below my escape key). If not you probably
will need to use superscript which you can find in Format - Font. Or if you
want to use the keyboard hit Ctrl and Shift and = key for superscript. At
least that works on my Dutch PPT version.

Hi Luc

The key below the Esc key doesnt give superscript 2 / 3 on US or UK qwerty
keyboards - only on (some?) azerty keyboards. On UK keyboards that key gives
backtick and "logical NOT" ( which I obviously use all the time! ;0)

ctrl shift = then 2 works though

If you are going to use this feature a lot in your presentation, right-click
the toolbar area and click "Customize", click the "Commands" TAB and then
click "Format". Scroll down on the right and find the subscript and
superscript commands. Click each one and drag to a place on an existing
toolbar. I usually put them next to the "B" (Bold).

Hi John,
Guess we are better off then. That's why I mentioned I used an azerty
keyboard.
