I was working on a 4 page term paper (done and getting
ready to save) when I got an error message and it closed
my Works Word Processor.
PLEASE tell me there is a way to get that paper back.
Thank you

My suggestion is to download 'Agent Ransack' (free) which is a search
utility that will easily seek a text-string anywhere on system.
Thus have 'Agent Ransack' search for a text-string that you know to be in
your file, it may find file in Temp-directory or something.;

Hi Beth,

Hopefully, the mentioned text string locater might work. Also check the
C:\doc & settings\<username>\local settings\temp folder for any remnants.
You may also have luck if you initially save the file when you began by
opening the word processor and looking at the recent docs under the file
menu.

You should always save your work periodically during the creation process,
never wait until the end. When I start a new paper, the very first thing I
do is file/"save as", give it a name, and save to the desktop or proper
folder. At the end of each paragraph or revision, I hit ctrl+s to save the
work in progress. Some programs provide for a periodic autosave as well,
though I find that it sometimes interupts me.
