Need to find out which program is using this file

I *think* I have a weird Trojan on my system. None of the Trojan
removers or anti-virus programs have found it, but I have an
un-editable, un-deletable .log file that is logging my email activity!
I've got all ports locked down & Sygate & Proport watching, as well
as TCMonitor, so I'm pretty sure it's not telling anyone what it
knows, but I'd really like to get rid of it. Since none of the
programs seem to be able to find what is doing this, I am hoping that,
if I can find out what program is writing to this file, I can kill it
myself. Can anyone tell me how I can find out what program is holding
this file hostage?

<blush> i didn't think to include that. ;> it's OPMlog.log. Created
in Documents and Settings/Owner/Local Settings/Temp/.

C:\Documents and Settings\<logon name>\Local Settings\temp\OPMLOG.LOG

[Microsoft Outlook supports the logging of the communications that occur
between Outlook and various types of e-mail servers. These logs can be helpful
when you troubleshoot problems with the transfer of messages between Outlook
and the e-mail server.
Outlook can log the communications with Microsoft Exchange, Post Office
Protocol version 3 (POP3), Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP), Internet
Messaging Access Protocol (IMAP), and Hotmail servers.]

[NOTE: It is very important to disable logging after the logs have captured the
failed communication with the server. If you do not disabled logging, the logs
continue to grow indefinitely.]

How to Disable Logging
On the Tools menu, click Options.
Click the Other tab
Click the Advanced Options button
Click to UNselect the Enable mail logging (troubleshooting) check box.
Click OK to save the setting, and then return to the main Options screen
Click OK.
Quit and restart Outlook.

Do you have your email program set to log what it does for troubleshooting
purposes?

in outlook express goto tools - maintenance and check if you have any ticks
on any of the
logging options.

sure other email programs may have the same option so have a look in your
options.
 
That got rid of it! Now if I can just find the rest of these trojans
and kill them, I'll be in business. Bless you!
