Hi! I know this question must be ask a lot. The history option was not
selected, no logging software were used. One of my clients need to find a
conversation that have been made on msn 7.5 yesterday. He really needs it.
It's a cause in witch he can do jail. But the conversation can innocent him.

I want to know, if i bring his laptop to the police, will they ba able to
get the conversation back?

Can I send files somewhere they can return me the conversation? Like sending
it to microsoft?

Sorry for my bad english.

Thx in advance

Greetings Martin,

If the history option was not selected, once that conversation window was closed it is gone.
There is no way to bring it back.

One minor exception if any third-party tools like Messenger Plus is installed, it would log
the conversation, but I assume your client would know that.

The police cannot retrieve something that isn't there. Microsoft does on a limited basis,
monitor what's happening through their network, and might be willing to provide that
information but will not do so for just individuals. Messenger does have the ability to send
conversations directly to contacts so it may not even have passed their network and therefore
they wouldn't have it either.

Thanks a lot Jonathan.

My client does not know much about computers. And I don't know much about
Messenger... How can I find if he has messenger plus? Wich files should I
backup if he has the plus version, where the conversation could be? Now we
keep his computer on until we know for sure nothing is going to bring back
the conversation.

How can I find if microsoft has monitored his conversation? Any phone
number, website, email or even fax? Maybe you know the best person to answer
me.

Thank you.
