Need to create multiple presentations in one file

I am creating a training file for 6 differet levels of training regarding the
same topic. I would like them to all be in the same file so that should a
supervisor choose to review the training for the user they can selcet that in
addition to completing the training required for the supervisors
responsibility. I do not want a long liner presentation, as I will be
reusing reference slides in each training as well as a multiple slides that
are hyperlinked to official air force instruction and forms.

MY dream presentation would allow a group of shared slides and then the 6
different trainings that use the shared slides but are complete in thier own
presentation. Can you help?

I don't know if that could help
Insertion menu / Object / From file. Double click on the first file ppt.
Do that for other files : they are all on a single slide. F5 to start the
slideshow where you can select any presentation.

After combining the slide sets into one file, you can create a "menu" slide
as the first slide and then hyperlink to each starting slide of the merged
instructional set of slides.

If you wanted to be totally creative you can also use Action Settings and/or
hyperlinks from one slide to another within the set and the last slide going
back to the menu. Done it, can be hard to get everything working correctly,
but it can be done with a lot of patience and the help menu.

I have not made my question very clear. I apologize. I just want one ppt
file. This is becasue I need to send this to a training office and do not
want to break any hyperlinks or for that matter wind up with 6 training ppt
presentations. I do not need to insert files. I wat to isolate slides in the
one ppt presentation to 6 different levels of training that will all
reference a group of examples all trainings have in common.

Is that more clear?

I get you. I have a menu slide for them to choose the coorect presentation
and it hyperlinks to that training. However I can't figure out how to:
1. do each training without using the same reference slides a total of 6
slides each traing has to refer to. (that is 36 total additional slides
instead of 6.)
2. how to get back to the correct traing once they are finished looking at
one of the reference slides.
3. Do I need to put a row of buttons on each page at the bottom so they can
navigate?
4. This training will be going from this base to others for other groups to
use, so I need to to be as dummy proof as possible to avoid broken links.

thanks for your help.

I'm kind of confused as to what you're after, but you can use a custom show
for the 6 slides. Create one by going to Slide Show | Custom Shows.

After you've created that, you can link to the custom show and choose "show
and return" -- which gets you back to where you started from.

A line of buttons for navigation is a good idea, even if you do use custom
shows.

Thanks!
I added a line of hyperlinks at the bottom of each form and reference slide
which took them back to the respective training. In this way I was able to
put all 6 reference slides at the end of the training and I now have a 23
slide training that covers 6 areas of responsibility.

WOOOO HOOOO!

(I was up to 44 pages trying to creat seperate training groups.)

You guys have all been great and a big help. I am going to check out the
custom show you suggest, it sounds like a slick tool.
thanks trina
