Need to click my mouse multiple times before IE responds

WOuld anybody have any info?

I need to click on an address link with my mouse about 2-4
times before IE responds.
Used to work just fine (ie, only needed to clink on link
once). Did not add any new programs.
Any suggestions?

Have you tried using a different mouse?

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded.
