Hello, I am running Active Directory and have about 10 users that have
static IP addresses. For a good reason I need to change the networks IP
address scheme from a 10 0.0.x /24 address to a 10.6.1.0 /24 scheme.
How will this affect my DNS , Active Directory ? Is it as simple as just
manually updating the DNS Forward lookup? I want to make sure once I change
the server and workstation IP addresses I will be able to login from the
workstations and have Active Directory and DNS work properly when I add more
workstations, etc...

Thank you,

First have all computers on and logged in. Change the Ip address of the
server. Make sure you change the DNS settings to point to itself. You can
restart the netlogon service so the it will register itself with DNS. You
will need to create a new Reverse lookup zone for the new IP addresses.
Next go to the workstations and change the Ip addresses and the DNS settings
to point to the new Dns Server address. If you use Wins be sure to change
the address to the new servers address. You should not have to restart the
computers but on if the workstation is not acting correctly then you might.
