Problem: I can't log on my work laptop (get message "The
system could not log you on. Make sure your User name
and domain are correct . . ."). I do not get the option
to change the Domain name (no "Log On To" prompt) at the
Log On screen.
OS: Windows 2000 Professional
PC: Dell Latitude D600
Cause of Problem: I changed Network Identification
Properties from Member of Domain to Member of Workgroup
(I was attempting to connect the laptop to my home
network, so I could use my home printer).
Note: Prior to the change, I was able to log on with no
problems. I have confirmed that the username is correct.
Question: How do I change the domain back to my
company's domain ? (i.e., how do I force the "Log On To"
prompt to reappear at the Log On screen?)
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
