Need to change default printer

I have a TS client who has a thermal printer installed locally on his machine and his default printer is an HP 1200 on the network (but in the same physical location). When connecting to the TS server, the default printer (for the TS session) is the local thermal printer and I want to permanently change that to the HP 1200 on the network.

I can print to both printers just fine, there's no installation problem, it's just that reports from our ERP system look much better on 8.5X11" sheets of paper than they do on labels :) and it's a pain for the user to have to switch the printer every time.

Hi,
Logon as a administrator in TSC client and installed the
printer(HP1200) and then make it default printer. This is
the simplest way.I m using the same setup. be careful

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm still experiencing problems.

It's actually installed on both the TS server and the client machine. That means that I can print to it from either the TS session or the client machine without being logged into TS. I can even set it as the default printer in the TS session, but after I log out (even if I wait more than the 60 seconds suggested in this related KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;243942 ) it "forgets" that I wanted the HP as the default and switches back to the local thermal printer the next time I log in.

Any suggestions?

In your terminal services configuration, there should be
an option to make the client's default printer the default
printer when connected through terminal services.
