I work for a non-profit organization and can't necessarily afford a print
server (dedicated computer) for each of my remote locations. I need a cheap
solution that will allow me to install a printer one place then be able to
map that printer with a logon script. I am having a hard time finding some
kind of print server that manages drivers like Windows does. What do you
guys use for network printing when you can't send print jobs over the WAN
and you can't afford a dedicated box for each location? All suggestions are
appreciated!

TIA

Assuming that you have at least a small lan at each location, a tcpip print
server might be an answer.
These are small inexpensive units with a tcp/ip port, and usually a Parallel
and USB port for the printer(s).
Another possibility is using a lan based hard drive (Maxtor) that has a
printserver built in.
I assume that the remote locations already have a printer.

I won't comment on "non profit", junk mail, expensive TV adds, etc.

The only print servers that I have come across like the ones you are talking
about don't manage the drivers. I need something that can manage the
drivers where I can do something like "net use LPT: \\server\printer" at
logon. Do you know anything like this?
