HI,
Hope this is the good place to post this.

I need to dismantle my Stylus Photo EX to clean or change the head.

Where can I find A PDF with the how-to ?

Thanks.

Many inkjet printers were made with the print head built in. You can
change ink tanks, but not the print head. If you have one of those,
your printer is dead, time to buy a new one. -Dave

Sometimes I wonder why I don't change my printer each time the
cartridge is empty... And I remember this joke : "I'd like to buy a new
car. My own ran out of fuel". lol
That's why I still use my Power Mac 9600, my G4 and my Athlon 64.
This printer can print for years so I will only change what's broken.
;-)

Ask in this group:

I studied that once, then bought a Samsung laser;- liked it so much I
got two more. Total outlay $120, and I've refilled the first probably
10 times already. Lucky I don't need photos or color for a nifty
little Canon camera I haven't used yet. Mostly just books to read
these days. My impression is they, the color dye printer industry,
really like to sock it to what people will pay to play with
consumables. Don't quote me for saying that in the above printers
group -- might start a flame.

I totaly agree with you.
Once you bough a printer which is not expensive, you must buy and use
ink cartridges or your printer will dry.
Where do you find those books you're talking about?

Hey, do the math. Inkjet cartridges are often $20-$50 a piece. After you
attempt to tear apart/reassemble your printer to clean the heads which
weren't made to be cleaned (obviously), you will need at least one new ink
cartridge.

Meanwhile, just yesterday, the drug store down the street had a brand new HP
brand photo quality inkjet printer on sale for $40 (well, $39.99), including
two brand new ink cartridges. That was at the drug store. I didn't check
Best Buy or Staples or any of several other retail stores where you could
probably find an inkjet printer cheaper than that.

Sadly, it's to the point where it's cheaper to replace THE WHOLE PRINTER
than it is to replace a couple of ink cartridges.

But if you want to waste money and time and effort to take a broken printer
and turn it into a broken printer that's made your wallet thinner...go
ahead. -Dave

Are you working for any printer builder ? ;-)
Well, we will have to pay one way or another for everything we throw to
the trashcan. So ...
