need steps for Windows 2000 installation

I have recently purchased a comuter that is without a
operating system, i have chosen to install win 2k. I have
never installed an OS before i have the software but i
don't have the instruction manual. could some one please
tell me the steps i must follow inorder to have a
successful instalation. thx.
 
Make sure your CD-ROM is bootable, insert the Windows 2000
CD and reboot the computer. After follow the steps.

How to determine whether my CD-ROM is bootable? TIA
 
Steps
(1) Go into BIOS and make sure you make your CD ROM the first boot device
(2) If your Win2K CD is the original your screen should say "Press Any Key
to boot from CD Rom"
(3) Press any key ( try the spacebar )
(4) it should start installing the Win2K
