Hello, I am new to VB but like what I have learned so far. However I a
having trouble coming up with a use for it or a
reason to use it. I ran through the course script on this site an
then did a modification turning it into a check register. But I nee
some direction to keep practicing and learning. Is there a list o
examples like the course booking found on this site that I can ru
through or do any of you have some ideas I can work on?

Trust is all we have here, so NO this is not school work. I am a 3
year old dog trying to learn new tricks.

Some of the best practice I've gotten is trying to figure out solutions to
some of the problems posted here. Hey - some of 'em actually work! Along
the way, you discover uses you never thought of. (BTW, you posted "VB" -
I'm assuming you *are* talking about VB*A*, the macro language, and not
VisualBasic?)

Agreed,

And another good thing is, if you can't figure it out, someone else usually
does . . . so you get to learn from some really good "programmers". Plus,
when you do get one and other people do as well, you can learn from the
different approaches taken to the same problem.

This is all true, and I have learned some. But since I don't
know what most of the stuff does, I am looking for basically
a dictionary of VBa terms. So when I see

Dim myRow As Long

I have a clue what it means. Because I don't, and if I know
what these rows do then I have a better understanding of
what is happening. Like I said, I am a newbie. I am a 37
year old that decided last week to learn something new.
