Let me know what news group to post this to if this is not the right one...
I made the mistake of a lifetime. I was browsing the web looking for an
audio demo of "Sweet Home Alababma" for my son...he is learning how to play
the guitar and his instructor is teaching it to him, but he has never heard
the song before...I thought I could find it on the web and play it for
him....Well I did...and now I am screwed...
I was prompted to install something...not sure if it was an activex or
plugin or what, but since I did, now I am getting a million pop-up ads all
the time. I mean I can have IE completely closed down and it will still
automatically open up and start throwing adds at me all over the place. It
just happend while I was typing this...My processor and memory was pegged at
100%. I had to get task manager and end task as fast as I could. There
were about 100 windows opened up. Some of the adds were for getting rid of
pop up adds and charging a fee for it. This is crazy....
Can anyone point me in the right direction to get this to stop???
