I have a scenario that I need help with -- I'm not sure I know the answer so
I thought I'd throw it out to the 'experts' and get your take on it:

I’m trying to build slideshows that will display on our LCD TVs at school.
These TVs have a 16:9 aspect ratio. My slideshows contain both photos and
“information/text†slides. I am currently building my slideshows by creating
lots of smaller topic-specific slideshows and then copying & pasting the
slides into a larger “for display†show.

Since I need to bring in LOTS of photos into the slideshows, I’m using the
“insert – photo album†tool to automatically and quickly pull all the photos
into a slideshow. This tool works just fine; the photos all appear on
separate slides with their aspect ratios intact. However, the “photo albumâ€
tool only seems to know how to build 4:3 aspect ratio slideshows. If I change
the aspect ratio of the slideshow (Design – Page Setup), then all the photos
get stretched and distorted.

I’ve also tried to create two slide masters, one in 16:9 (for my
information/text slides) and another 4:3 (for my photo slides), but when I
try to copy a 4:3 slide master into a slideshow with a 16:9 slide master, it
automatically changes aspect ratio.

So, here are the questions:

1 – can I have a slideshow with slides in two aspect ratio? How do I
accomplish this?

2 – if I can’t have mixed aspect ratio presentations, then how to I quickly
build photo slideshows for 16:9 aspect ratio slides that maintain the
original aspect ratio of the photos (I don’t want everyone to be fat or
skinny)?

Question 1 = No

I would build my 16:9 presentation and use the insert photo options found
here to insert them.
