Hello All:

I'm having some really bizarre problems trying to implement VPN with
eTokens. First issue to overcome was that we are running NT 4.0 (upgrading
shortly). Until that time, set up a seperate 2000 AD domain for this
purpose. 1 domain controller acting also as certificate server and 1 vpn
server. Have the certificate end working fine.

Here's the bizarre problem. I set up a client with a token and testing
internally is fine....connecting with local ip 10.0.1.x. However, when
trying to connect from WAN to LAN....the connection times out while
"verifying username and password"
Firewall port 1723 open for pptp etc.

Here's the bizarre part. I have another vpn set up - no tokens. If I first
connect to this server, then connect to the token vpn server using it's
local ip address. I connect. I can then disconnect both tunnels, set my
token vpn connection on the client to the connect using 63.148.229.x and it
connects fine. I can continue to connect to the token VPN server until I
reboot the client PC. the the issue occurs all over again. Times out trying
to connect. The if I establish a conection via another tunnel, I'm good.

Something is happening or not happening when I initially try to connect from
external. But whatever that is vanishes once an intitial connection is made
using internal IP's. I just cannot connect the dots here and am hoping
someone can help. You can email me direct at
