I have a 2 computer LAN, internet connection working from either computer, I have all my hard drive partitions (on both computers) set for sharing...but from the Primary computer, when I open up My Network Places, go to Entire Network, then Microsoft Windows Network, then to the names of the two different workgroups (should I have both computers in the same workgroup?), then the workgroup with the secondary computer, then the secondary computers' name...when I open up this computer all I get is Printers and something else, there are no shared partitions listed.

As a starter, how can I get access to the shared partitons on the secondary computer? I'd like access to each entire partition, not to a mapped folder here and there. I did have this kind of access from the secondary computer to the primary, but that's not working now either. From the secondary computer, through the pathways mentioned above, I can't get both workgroup names to show, only the one for the secondary computer.

I'd appreciate some basic help with this.

The first thing you need to do is get both computers into the same
workgroup. That should simplify browsing network resources somewhat and
make your issue less complicated to sort out. Next you need to be sure that
any firewalls are uninstalled until the network is working properly, then
reinstalled and configured to work with your network.
