Is there a way to get a registry key out of a drive I can browse, but
not boot with?
not boot with?
Yes, if you are using Windows 2000 use the "Load Hive" feature in
Regedt32, you have to use Regedt32, Regedit can't do it.
If you are using Windows XP you can use the Load Hive feature in Regedit
to do it.
The registry hives are stored at: \WINNT\system32\config

Then just use Regedit and load the hive of the problem installation.

What are you trying to load? No, they're in the same place.

What's odd is that in the path you mentioned I don't see any registry
information. On my Windows XP system I see them in there. On my
Windows 2003 system, the one which can't boot, I don't see any keys in
there. Is the path different for Windows 2003?
You're welcome. This information doesn't help to narrow it down.

Ok, thanks.
According to GE in order to use a part of their application I need a
registry key from off of the old server that died.
