I have 34 negatives that are old (1950's) odd sizes and shapes (but all
quite large by todays standards ... some square, some rectangular), some
color, some monochrome.

Can anyone suggest a service that I can send these to for scanning that
is reasonable as to both quality and cost?

All depends on your sefinition of reasoable. I have used Imagers of
Atlanta before and they have always done a good job. www.imagers.com.
Odd sized negatives are never inexpensive to scan. Imagers lowest
prices are 35mm-$.90, 2 1/4-$5 and 4x5-$8. This is as inexpensive as
scans get from a professional outfit.

You don't give measurements but here are image size numbers for several
(popular 1950s/discontinued by 1970s) formats for amateur and "snapshot"
shooters:
828 for bantem camera, 2.8x4.0cm || when placed into Instamatic
cartridge rebadged as
126, 2.8x2.8cm. ||
127, 4x4cm to 4x7cm for Brownie and other box cameras, and 'baby
Rollies' ||
For comparison, 135 image is 2.4x3.6cm || 120 is square 6x6cm or 4:3
format of 6x4.5cm.
The pointof this digression is to recall that amateurs were and are not
careful in cleaning the lenses, that the lenses were not coated, etc., so
there will likely be less-than-grain-level resolution, no matter how
meticulous the technical service. I happen to be working thru several
boxes of happysnaps from my siblings and father from that era, and it is
easy to see the smearings thru the loupe. It is a waste to crank the
scanners above 1200ppi for most af these frames.
Regards,
Theo

The sizes are:

57mm x 57mm (2.25" x 2.25" ?? - I think) (120 square?)
57mm x 83mm
65mm x 43mm
