Have two WD 120GB SE hard drives that I need to add to this system
using a controller card. Anyone have a reccomentdation on which card
to get? A friend of mine uses a Promise controller for his SATA hard
drives but since the drives I have are IDE he wasn't sure which one I
should use. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Won't your regular IDE motherboard connection do the job for you? Why use a
controller card? I'm not being sarcastic, I'd really like to know.

If you bios dual boot with one drive on the motherboard ide and the
other on the scsi/adapter card.

Also if you have lots of CD and DVD burners on the motherboard IDE.

Promise works fine for me.

Promise Ultra100 TX2 came with my WD drive.

Thanks.

Thanks, I ordered the same card today. To answer the other question
I have run out of IDE channels on my motherboard (two 60 GB Hard
drives already there along with a DVD-/+R&RW and a CDRW). The
controller card will give me a lot more disc space. Video and burning
DVD's takes a lot of space. Thanks for your help.

Its generally better to replace one or other
of the 60GB drives with a much larger drive.
