Can't find anything to edit the right click menu in 2XExplorer. Can't find
anything in the registry.

I have lost the "rename" option on the left pane. Under "File Folder" in
File Types, the "new" and "edit" boxes are greyed out.

Seems like there would be a simple script to accomplish this, but I can't
find anything.

You might try repairing Internet Explorer which also repairs Explorer.
Control panel > Add/Remove Programs > Microsoft Internet Explorer > Remove >
Repair. Yes, I know you said 2XExplorer, not Windows Explorer...doesn't
matter, that is what 2XExplorer is using.

I don't have Internet Explorer on my computer. At all.

I messed around with it last night, did lots of searching. A learning
experience, to be sure. Found ContextEdit and tried it (yes, it's still out
there for free, but I ain't gonna say where!) Won't work. Tried editing
shell32.dll directly with ResHack. Didn't work.

The strange thing is that rename is still there in Windows Explorer, but
not in 2X. And in 2X, it's there for the right pane, but not the left one.

It's not a major problem, but it's fun messing around with it and seeing
what I can do.
