need ping like utility to run via mstask

I have a batch file pinging the router every 15min cuz they keep losing the
connection to the router. (long story)
so as a temp measure we are pinging the router via task scheduler but dont
want the cmd window popping up all the time.
i've set the batch file properties to run minimized and that works when you
click it but not via task scheduler.
tips or tricks or a freeware utility site is most welcome.

i think i found something suitable enough from the ms scripting site.

To make it invisible, schedule the task under an account
other than your logon account.
 
There is a freeware utility called hidden. I haven't tested it from task
scheduler but I don't know of any reason why it won't do what you want. I
don't see it available on the authors site any more.
(www.savardsoftware.com) If you contact them, they may send it to you or you
may find it at an alternate site. I will post back if I find it online.I
have a copy and it doesn't say anything in the license about distribution,
so if you can't find it, I'd be happy to send it to you.
