I just replaced the hard disk in my niece's computer and reinstalled Windows
ME. Unfortunately, I don't have the motherboard CD with all of the drivers
(SiS 530 chipset, AGP VxD, onboard video, modem, sound, blah blah). The mobo
is of course a "Super Socket 7" PM-0598MR (a.k.a. M598), and is of course
highly integrated... everything but built-in LAN! [Yeah, I know what most
folks are thinking about PC-Chips, but that's what my niece has; it's been
working fine for her needs and appears to be one of the "good ones."]
Being that it's a fully integrated motherboard, the driver CD is especially
important because I'm finding that it's nearly impossible to gather up all
of the individual drivers that this motherboard needs. I've visited the
PC-Chips and Amptron Web sites, but they're pretty much useless for legacy
stuff. I've scoured the Internet via Google, too, but have just ended up
wasting lots of time.
The best thing to make my job a little easier and get my niece's computer
fixed soon would be for someone to make me a copy of the CD that shipped
with the motherboard. Surely someone out there must have one of these
motherboards and accompanying CDs lying around. Can anyone help me out? I
will of course pay for any expenses as well as the hassle factor involved.
