Need over install windows 2000 server

I need over install my O. S. but the Windows 2000 server installation program
ask me only if I want install a *new* O. S. leaving the other... I need over
install without destroyng all programs and data, how I can to make it?
The application error register give ma an error like "is not possible to
access to the RemoteAccess library. Time error in open function" ( the
original message is in italian ); I no found that library in the system, then
I think I must reinstall the operative system.
Can you help me? thank you very much
