Need More RAM?

I have 256K RAM using Windows XP. Wehn I run a number-
crunching program, which results in 100% of CPU useage.
When I try to open something else, it often doesn't do
that well at all, maybe even stalls. Is 1 of the stats
in the Task Panel listed that of RAM? I'm trying to
determine if I had more RAM would doing seomthing while
my number-crunching program would help. I know in
general the answer is yes, but I wanted to make sure that
is the source of the slowdown in this case.

Thanks,

J

Since another 256 or even 512 MB stick is cheap and can't
hurt, skip lunch and buy the RAM.

Be sure to get matching RAM that is correct for your system.

With your number crunching program loaded, look in Task Manager and see how
much memory is being used. My gut feel is more ram will not do a thing for
you. It is very cheap nowadays however.

more ram prob won't help, BUT your at the low end of memory for XP
anyway...with it being so inexpensive...get atleast another 256.

Open the task manager with ctrl/alt/del and select
performance tab. If page file usage is high, you need more
RAM.

| which spec in the task manager is for RAM?

| Thanks
