need lots of help

Is there a way .. I could buy another hard driver already formated with windows xp. and nuke the existing hard drive. And use that one as a D: drive..
 
You cannot buy a hard drive with XP installed. You can buy a computer with
it installed. An installation of XP is personalized to the individual
machine. It recognizes all the hardware and configures itself to that
machine. ( not to be confused with the difference between OEM and Retail XP)
