Hello, first, i'm german (yo, i know, germans suck...)
but excuse my bad writing.

I've got a service problem in win xp, and it seems nobody can help me.
So if anyone want to challange my errors, do your best.

1) got a logitech wing man formula (the cheapest one on lo's website)
2) Athlon XP 1700+, Elitegroup K7VTA3, gameport onboard, via chipset
3) Hardware must work (friend of mine got the same bundle, and it worked)

in services, the service for human interface devices can not be started.
"Error 2:System is unable to find the requested file" But what file?
its also not assigned in my error log that is built in win xp.

1. the service that is needed to run hidServ runs properly, and
2. please do not remind me of that logitech drivers... it makes no difference.

i need the name of all files depending on that special HID-service, (- OR any better solution) and where i find them on the win xp-cd, since i didn't want to reinstall. there must be any other less hurting possib.

thanks, k.

Hi Ky,

The following error will occur if any of the three files (hidserv.dll,
mouhid.sys and mouclass.sys) are missing.

Extract hidserv.dll, mouhid.sys and mouclass.sys from drivers.cab in the
Windows XP CD to "<Systemroot>\Windows\System32\" to fix the issue.

1.Insert Windows XP Setup CD.
2.Browse to <CD-ROM>:\i386\drivers.cab
3.Double click the drivers.cab file. The compressed files in the Cab file
will be listed.
4.Copy the three files to <SystemRoot>\windows\system32\. Reboot the
computer.

The Human Interface Device Access service will then be started.

Could not start the Human Interface Device Access service on Local
Computer. Error 126: the specified module could not be found
