ok, i have Windows Movie Maker Version 1.1.2427.0 and i was wondering if it
was possible to remove the video from a premade clip, but keep the audio.

for example: a clip with Jim kicking a ball saying yay, is there anyway to
keep the all the sounds playing, but remove the video of jim kicking the ball.

Hello,

If you want to make an audio file for later use....use a program like Audacity
or Music Match or windows recorder if its less than 60 seconds long (LOL) and
record the audio as you play the video....you would set your audio source to
"What You Hear" if using a creative sound card or the imaginative "Stereo Mix"
otherwise. You then save the audio remembering what you called it and where you
put it.

Change view to TimeLine view.
Drag your video from collections into the Music track leaving nothing in the
video track.
Save Movie

This will result in a WMA sound file.

Here's a little trick to beat the 1 minute restriction.
Found it at
http://www.jabw.demon.co.uk/record.htm

Recorder will stop after a minute, but there's a trick. Click record (red
circle) and let it run silently for 50 or so seconds, press stop, press
record again, repeat until you have a silent recording of about 4 minutes
length, that's your blank. (Note: if you have a microphone you might have
recorded 4 minutes of breathing! but doesn't matter). Save your 4mins of
silence in an appropriate folder
