need help

my daughter has win. 98, she can't get to internet explorer. she somehow
downloaded virtual bounce, and its says she has parasites, and it wants her
to pay to get them off. i tried to delete it, so i could run ad-aware, but
it wont let me delete it, in add and remove. i tried to disable it in
msconfig but that did'nt work. i ran the latest updates in norton anti
virus, it showed no viruses. i hope i dont have to format. can you help
 
You do realize this is an XP board and not a Windows 98 board?

That said, I wasn't able to find anything on Virtual Bounce using Google to
search the web and newsgroups. If you know the website from where it was
downloaded they may have removal tools.

You might also try running Ad Aware in safe mode and see if you can delete
it there. Sorry, I don't recall the key combination necessary to boot
Windows 98 in Safe Mode.
