need help

i have windows xp and my screen has gone in both sides and now looks like an
hour glass.....can anyone tell me if this is my montior or computer or what
to do i really would appreciate it....Patsy

It has nothing to do with Windows or with your computer. It's the monitor.

Depending on how bad it is, you may be able to correct it with the monitor
comtrols., but all monitors are different, and you'll need to refer to your
documentation to find out exactly how to do this.

Question: It probably is the monitor, but ... how are you so sure it's not
the video card?
I ask because I could finook my screen that way with my video card
settings if I wanted to, so ... if the card were bad ... ??

I don't know what "finook" means, but I've never seen or heard of such a
problem with a video card.
 
If it started pulling in on the sides by it's self, the horizontal sweep of
the monitor is taking a dump. Probably won't run much longer. Don't be
surprised if you start smelling the sweep transformer burning. Like Ken
said, video cards don't do this most of the time. I have never seen it
either. On the other hand, if someone was messing with the controls it is
possible.
