I Installed Autopatcher XP on my system and I let it do its thing.
What I didn't realize was it installed a registry setting that
disabled the welcome screen and made classic logon the default. I go
into user settings in control panel and check welcome screen and fast
user switching but it doesn't take.

I guess what I am looking for is the place in the registry where I can
set something that will allow me to check this stuff in user settings.
I tried some things on the Kellys page and the Doug knox pages but
nothing seemed to help.

Also I looked to see if there was an undo setting in Autopatcher but I
didn't see anything.

Help Please,

Steve P

Hi Steve,

Manually check your settings here:

This setting controls which type of logon screen is shown, either the
classic Windows NT/2000 format or the Windows XP welcome screen.

Start/Run/Regedit

Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\
CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
Value Name: LogonType
Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value Data: (0 = Classic Mode, 1 = Welcome Screen)

Other checkpoints: Ignore what you have tried and good luck!

Control Panel/Users/Change the Way Users Logon/Welcome Screen or...

Start/Control Panel/Users/Change the Way users log on or off/Use Welcome
Screen and Use Fast User Switching.

Enable the Welcome Screen (Line 80)
