When I click the Windows Updates I get the message for new updates. When I click the link to download them, it then goes back to the same screen. Same software required screen. Any solutions?

You could just try going to Control Panel, Windows Update and then
trying your update from there. Maybe it will clear out the "windows
update" icon from systray.
