I am trying to write a professional document and would like to be able to
type into to columns so the text will overflow into the next text box for
symmetry. I need to do it in PPT to be able to add in pictures and be able to
work with them, but I cannot figure out the text box thing. Is there anyway
to link boxes so that as I type the text will just keep on moving to the next
available text box?

I am really PPT illiterate so simplified answers would be appreciated!

Thanks in Advance

PowerPoint does NOT have linked text boxes like in Word. Word will allow
the insertion of pictures, linked text boxes, etc. Why not use Word (or
even Publisher)?

PowerPoint doesn't have that feature...can you not do what you want in Word?
There you can link text boxes, add pictures and wrap text around them -
surely a much more appropriate program?

In PowerPoint text boxes can't be linked in the manner you describe. You'll
have to break the text between text objects yourself. But, if you are using
PowerPoint to create a document, rather than a presentation, I would recommend
that you use Word, which is very capable of doing what you want.
