I want to load programs at system startup or logon
(Dragon NaturallySpeaking Preferred version 7.0 and
onscreen keyboard). Running Windows XP I tried starting
programs using Scheduled Tasks but it does not work.

Data I received when creating the task:

The new task has been created, but may not run because
the account information could not be set. The specific
error is:

0x8007007a:the data area passed to a system call is too
small.

Data I received after attempting to run the task:

Status - Could not start
Last Result - 0x0

I also get username or password error. I tried adding a
password (I currently do not use a password) but then
Dragon NaturallySpeaking Preferred version 7.0 did not
load!
I would greatly appreciate any help.

Hmm.. The subject says one thing and the body says another..

If you want "to load programs at system startup or logon" -> then place
shortcuts to these programs in the startup folder of your user. If you want
to run these programs for all users, then place shortcuts to these programs
in the startup folder of All Users.

C:\Documents and Settings is the location (normally) of the user folders..

Then the Startup Folder can be found at:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
and
C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_USERNAME\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Scheduled tasks.. are - well, not what you are describing.. You set them to
run at a specified time.

BTW - I noticed you gave your email (it looks real enough) - if so, expect
some spam increase in your inbox. Some may look like they are from
Microsoft, 99% of them will not be.. Never install patches unless you
downloaded them from a reliable source.

Start|Administrative Tools|Local Security Policy. Open up 'Local Policies'
and then 'Security Options'. Look for 'Accounts: Limit local account use of
blank passwords...........'. Right click and select 'Properties' and then
select 'Disabled'. These instructions are for XP Pro. XP Home could be
slightly different.
