created new querys under 2007 and they get an owner of admin. need to change
the owner to "unknown" like those created in 97 so external programs can
access them. Get "You can't change permissions for 'qry_cmdb" when signed on
with admin rights.

any ideas?

A97 queries have owner "unknown" only because the are
owned by 'Admin' from a different workgroup.

Perhaps what you want is to have the queries owned by
the same admin as owns your A97 queries?

What program is trying to access the queries, and how
is it trying to do it, and what database format are you
using?

Maybe getting to the same owner as a97 would help. I'm trying to access via
SAS/PC. This product can access the a97 tables/queries but not those with
the Admin owner.

We're struggling with Admin since it seems no user has Admin.

Do you have a copy of A97?
Can you import all of the queries to an A97 database?

If you search your computer, how many copies of system.mdw
do you find?

How are you creating the new queries?

Possibly, all of your queries have "Admin" owner, but due
to changes in system.mdw, you have two different "Admin"
owners. (and are using two different copies of system.mdw)
This was a problem due to a badly designed MS update.

Less likely is that SAS/PC is using a special login. If so,
it is using a special mdw file, which may not be called
'system.mdw'. What kind of system does SAS/PC have
for connecting to the database?
