have you tried to obvious - go to nVidia's web site an look for an
updated driver? I assume you mean that the XP driver won't work,
which doesn't surprise me. but, after reading about and personally
experiencing so many problems with buggy nVidia drivers, I bought
an ATI Radeon for my current PC, works great. that's of no help to
you, of course, just an observation to be wary of an errant nVidia
driver which may make your entire O/S unusable, requiring a nuke
and reinstall.

just curious, what exactly is special/different about XP Media
Center? I run XP Pro SP2 and like it, but I'm neither a gamer nor a
big-time media user. The most load I place my my system is post-
processing large digital camera images.

i have already looked on their website but could not find what i need. i
have the driver that came with on a disk but it wont work with xp, which is
odd since thats what was installed when i bought the laptop. media center
allows you to connect your pc to your xbox or xbox 360 as well as run
programs and access media right from your tv while sitting on the couch,
allowing eveyone in the room to enjoy pics videos and music

I guess I don't understand, then. You have a new laptop and a new
O/S but the driver won't run on XP at all or just XP Media or
what?

And, I can understand your frustration at not being able to find
the right driver on nVidia's site, another good reason for me to
avoid them but an option saddly not open to you, but if nVidia
and the OEM that built your laptop cannot get on the same page on
an O/S as old as XP, what next? Can I assume you also talked to
the laptop manufacturer? I'm not being critical, but is there any
known incompatibilities between Media and your laptop, especially
the video card? I'm just throwing ideas out, as I've not heard
someone tell a tale quite like this.

I do hope you get it resolved soon, though - best of luck!
