Cassie Parker

Hello everyone. I sure hope someone can help me. I was
trying to fix a problem last week involving my Outlook
Express. I can't click on a link and access the internet
that way. Needless to say, I didn't fix that problem and
now I've created another. I somehow messed up the Windows
installer, my Outlook Express and Publisher only open
after I reboot. I looked in the registry again and the
microsoft folder under Hkey_Current_User/Software can't
be opened. It says that I don't have access to that key!
Some error 1402 and I can't find my specific situation
when I search for that error on the internet. Please,
please help me! Thanks, Cassie

Hi

Did you manually edit the Registry? If so, can you remember *exactly* what
you changed? Try a System Restore back to a point before the problem
started.

Hey! I think I fixed it! I went into C drive then system
and my windows installer was disabled. I enabled it and
now it works!!! I had tried the System Restore first but
I forgot to enable it after getting rid of a virus a few
weeks ago! That totally sucked! Anyway, I think it's
going to be ok now. I am still left with the problem of
not being able to use a link in my email to connect me to
Internet Explorer. Got any ideas on that? Thank you for
your help and your time, Cassie

Hi Cassie

Glad you have solved one problem - for the link try typing the following
from Start>Run:

regsvr32 urlmon.dll

Please note the space between the 2 and u.

Ok, I did that. The computer said that it was successful
but I tried to click on a link and that didn't work.
Maybe it would help you to know that I can't click on a
web shortcut on my desktop either. It says can't open
file. Choose a file to open it. Something about the .URL
Thanks, Cassie
