I have a P4 2.4GHz and 4 PC800 256MB RIMMs (rambus rdram). I can't find a
motherboard that will support these both. The only rambus boards I can find
don't support the processor speed or pins (socket 478). I'm only willing to
spend a max of $80. If someone could give me a link to a board I would
greatly appreciate it. Thanks

The reason is this: A pentium 4 2.4GHZ is most likely going to have a
533MHZ FSB. Rambus RAM is ONLY going to operate at 800MHZ. So it
would be pointless to make a Motherboard that supports RDRAM and a
533MHZ processor. The memory is way to fast for the processor.

Umm, no, they could design a board to run many different
async RDRAM speeds if they CHOSE to. The reason is that
the industry rejects more expensive RDRAM in favor of DDR.

Thank you both for the replies. I actually didn't want this RDRAM. If
anyone wants to buy it for $150 + shipping I'd be more than willing to sell
it to USA buyers. Two chips are Samsung with heatsinks and the other two
are generic (Apacer) (non heat sink) modules. The Samsung modules are 256MB
each, and the Apacer are unknown size, believed to be 128MB or 256MB each.

Thanks.
