Hello all,

I have been using movie maker for about 6 months now, and find it very easy
to use. I'm not doing anything really spectacular, just putting making short
videos of trips. I have a JVC GRDX digital camcorder that I'm working with.

Recently I captured video using MM and now when I try to import it into my
collections it says "the file is not indexed and cannot be imported".

The bad news is I've already taped over the original source for the video.

Does anyone know how I can index a video on my hard drive? or possibly
change the format so i can import it into movie maker?

Thanks in advance.

I'm running windows XP and have MM version 2.4

Graham thanks for the idea. I downloaded the program and used bothe the file
editor program and the encoder. Both gave me unsuccessful results. The
encoder just said the file is corrupt even though i can watch it in it
through media player. I just can't skip ahead or backward.

Any other ideas? :) thanks
