I have two linksys routers that I would like to configure to work
together. Currently I have a WRT54GS (192.168.1.1) in my office. The
WAN port is connected to cable modem. There are 3 computers that are
connected on ports 1,2,3. I also have a 100' of ethernet attached to
port 4 that goes to my family room. This is where the second router
(WRT54G 192.168.1.2) will be placed. I would like to have 3 devices
(xbox, roku internet radio and another computer) connected to it here
and possibly use it as a wireless access point. Which port do I use
on this router to connect to the other? WAN or port 1? If I use port
1, I am assuming that I can't use Wireless port since all 4 ports will
be used. Also, would i need to use Advance Routing and setup a static
route? I am assuming I leave the office router configured as GATEWAY
and change the family room router to ROUTER mode, do I need to do
anything with RIP? I also I assume I leave DHCP enabled on office
router and disabled on family room.

Thanks for any advice/help/tips

You are just using the second router as a hub/access point. Do not connect
anything to WAN port. Assingn a fixed IP address. I think 192.168.1.2 will
be OK. Disable DHCP. I am not sure about the Gateway configuration, I would
leave in Router mode. With DHCP disabled and nothing on WAN it will be an
access point for the wireless and the hub/switch will be a part of the first
router's network. It is funny how a wireless router is cheaper than an
access point.
