I would appreciate it if you all could help me with this printer. I bought it
especially so that i could print directly on the DVD/CD media. No matter what i
do and what i try i can not get the printer to print on the DVD. I followed the
instructions to the letter, but the the disk is ejected everytime and the error
message saying i did not insert it properly, or something like that. Any
advice?
Thanks in advance.

I don't believe that is supposed to be removed.

It won't hurt a thing, my tray on my 300 started acting up, I pulled that
little clear strip off and have not had a problem since..

No need to, just place the tray in a bit more like just under 1/8"

It works for me every time..

Epson fitted the clear plastic strip for a reason, so leave it well alone..

True, just fit the tray in further, work then 100%

So you know more than Epson, or just a silly sheep that read the stupid posts
here.

Or did Epson give you this advise..?

I'm sure your printer is stull under warranty, just call Epson and
have it exchanged through them. There could be an issue with the
tray sensor.

I was actually told to remove that strip by Epson support and I too have
not had a problem printing since then.
