Need help with black text / HP Photosmart 7850

I realize this is a photo printer, but I should be able to print text with
acceptable results. However, when the text is black the characters are
thick, almost like they are bolded. Looking closer, it looks like the text
actually it printing twice, perhaps from both cartridges?

Is this because I'm using the carts that came with the printer - the
tricolor 95 and the photo tricolor 99?

Any text color besides black prints perfectly.

is it possible that you're printing high quality, as in still using
the photo settings? If so try a lower setting and see how good or bad
it is.

Yes, you are using the dye based photo black from the #99 cartridge.
For printing text you would have much better results using the pigmented
black #94 cartridge.
