I've never worked with Access until about 2 weeks ago, so
I know next to nothing about it. I desperately need help
with this. We're getting a new computer next week, with
the 2003 version of Access installed on it. The version
I'm working with now is from Windows 95. Can I save the
spreadsheet (database??) I have on my current computer's
version of Access onto a disk and download it to the 2003
version of Access? Can you go from 95 to 2003? If so,
how do I get this file to a disk? I'm used to clicking on
file, then save as....like on Excel. I can't figure out
how to get this spreadsheet onto a disk. Thank you in
advance for any help anyone can give me!

Yes, you can open the file in the new version. It will prompt you to convert
it the first time you open it. There is an upgrade for Access 2003 in the
Office 2003 SP1 update that should make the conversion go smoother, so I
recommend that you install SP1 for Office prior to opening the file in
Access 2003. To get the file to the other computer, you'll need to use My
Computer to copy the file from its present location to a floppy, flash
drive, zip drive, etc; burn it to a CD, or connect the two computers across
a network and transfer it that way. There is no "save as" as you are used to
in Access.
