Hi I have a 1.7ghz p4 478 motherboard whitch uses rdram 512mb, I want to upgrade to a pci express board but I cant find any that I can just swap the the 478 processor and the rdram ram into,

Or failing that any other advice would b great thanks alot.

I dont think you can, you may have to buy a new CPU & Motherboard one that comes with PCI-E slots on it.
RAM would be different, but you could still use, if you have them, DVD/CDRW, FDD & Hard Drive from you current P4.:thumb:

Rambus ram is a dead technology me thinks, and the 478's are very much outdated- especially at 1.7GHz :D
best bet is to buy (or build) a new system from scratch.
