Need HELP! to get docs to open with Word instead of Works!!!

Our HP came loaded with Vista and Microsoft Works but we have added WORD.
However, to open a document sent to us, we have to save it and then open it
in Word. Otherwise, it tries to open it with Works and gives us errors. How
can we set the computer to automatically, as a default, open documents with
Word?
 
Sorry, but this newsgroup is for questions about reports in Access, the
database product that's part of Office Professional.

You'd be best off reposting your question to a newsgroup related to Vista,
or one related to Word.
