Carla F.
I am trying to set up an xp computer to share the internet, so that my
laptop can plug into the net via the little network I've set up.
My laptop is already configured with a static IP address to go thru
the host (at work we use winproxy). I have tried setting up this
computer the same as the host at work - same work group name, host ip,
subnet mask, tcp/ip, etc. I was hoping the laptop would think it was
at work....
It doesn't seem to be working. Other aspects of the network are
working - I can see the shared directories, etc. Just not the
internet. What else can I check? The host at work is win98, so I'm
not as familiar with xp's quirks.
Oh, yeah, the "host" has xp home, the notebook xp pro, and there are
only the 2 computers.
Thanks,
Carla
