need help restoring profile files

Heres the basics:

Hard drive crashed (no back up, my bad)

Had 2 profiles with files under docs and
settings/'profile'/my pictures and my music

Got new hard drive, its all hooked up and working fine.

Tried to hook up old (bad) hard drive to retrieve files.

Able to retrieve all files except those under the docs and
settings profiles. When I try to copy or access the
folders it tells me that they are inaccessible.

Tried changing file properties to NOT read only, doesn't
work.

Tried copying files in DOS environment, but cant get DOS
to recognize the 2nd hard drive.

How can I access these folders/files?

ANY SUGGESTIONS???? Please????

You need to "take ownership" of the files.

(Help and Support -> search for that..)
