I recently had an error on my computer where it said the registry was
corrupt. This caused windows to not start up, i tried many things but i was
forced to reinstall windows. If anyone could figure out why that happened
that would be great. Anyways, I reinstalled windows and i was downloading
some updates and installing things and i reboot my computer and then it says
"Reboot and select proper boot device
Insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key" Now, i have to
put the windows disk in to get it to go away, anyone know how to get rid of
this thing that pops up EVERY TIME i reboot, and also, i am able to start up
my computer, its just that i have to enter in the windows cd to get there.
Thanks
Sam

For a corrupted registry that prevents xp from starting, thier is a fix for
that,follow kb307545.As for the current problem,boot to xp cd,recovery,
select 1 For C: Press enter key for password,in recovery type:Fixboot
Then type:CHKDSK C: /p Type:EXIT Let xp start.
