need help opening a protective database

I have Microsoft Access version 2002 and I have MDB files from another party.
The problem I have is when I attempt to open the MDB files I get an Error
message, which reads “The current user doesn’t have permissions to convert or
enable this database.†Can anyone offer any suggestions on how I can open or
view the data in the database?

Can you give me some instructions on how I can link tothe Data. Can I use
Access or do I have o use another application like Excel. I can open the
individual tables in Excel,but I would rather open the entire Database.

Create a new empty database.
Go to File, Get External Date,.
Then Import or Link

You don't need to convert a database to import or link data.
